In January 2022, the Columbia River Drug Task Force (CRDTF) combined with the Wenatchee Police Department's Pro Act team with the idea of expanding the mission. The primary mission of the CRDTF is to combat illegal drug activity, gangs, and violent crime in our communities. To combat these issues which are present in all of our communities, the CRDTF works with all local law enforcement partners to provide support for major investigations. This increases efficiency and more importantly, coordinates the utilization of each agency’s resources and expertise. The CRDTF is partnering with our communities and the Chelan and Douglas County Prosecutors to work hand in hand on these issues. Our ultimate goal is to reduce crime, increase community safety, and improve quality of life. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office is the lead agency and receives federal grant funding for the CRDTF. Each member agency also contributes funding for their assigned staff. The Wenatchee Police Department provides first line supervision of the CRDTF and two investigators. Each of our partner agencies also provides an investigator.
