Home MenuADA Transition Plan
Project Overview
The purpose of the City of Wenatchee ADA Transition Plan lies in the requirement, under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and 28CFR35.105, to perform a self-evaluation of its current transportation infrastructure policies, practices, and programs. This self-evaluation will identify what policies and practices impact accessibility and examine how the City implements these policies. The goal of the self-evaluation is to verify that, in implementing the City policies and practices, the department is providing accessibility and not adversely affecting the full participation of individuals with disabilities. The Transition Plan lays out the methodology, details and time frames that self evaluation is planned to be completed.
Project Status
In 2020, the City contracted TranspoGroup to review the City’s existing policies and practices as and complete a high level review of the City’s ADA dataset that was developed while the City conducted its Self Evaluation. This project resulted in a memo which made several recommendations towards full ADA compliance, many which have already been incorporated into the City’s policies and procedures. The memo also provided guidance for the City’s future steps towards a completed ADA Transition Plan.
In 2021, following the completion of the TranspoGroup project, the City contracted King Technologics to assist the City in the development of the ADA Transition Plan. On Thursday October 26, City Council adopted the ADA Transition Plan. Below is the Transpo Group ADA Technical Memorandum, the King Technologics ADA Coordinator Description, and the adopted ADA Transition Plan.
