Graffiti Clean up
Gang graffiti in Wenatchee has increased over the years and the Police Department continues to address this problem.
The VIPS force has taken on the duties of documenting the graffiti, contacting property owners as necessary, and providing assistance with graffiti removal.
It is important to remove graffiti as quickly as possible. If graffiti is not removed in a timely manner, the likelihood of other gang members tagging over the existing graffiti increases. Other crimes and vandalism may also increase in the area.
If you witness graffiti in progress, please dial 911. If not in progress or the graffiti is previously unreported, please call the Rivercom non-emergency line at (509) 663-9911. If you need assistance with graffiti cover-up, please contact Ofc. Corey Fuller at (509) 888-4244, or at cfuller@wenatcheewa.gov, and Ofc. Lorenzo Cornelio at (509) 888-4136, or at lcornelio@wenatcheewa.gov. We will make every effort to assist you in a timely manner. It is important to note that it is ultimately the property owner's responsibility to remove the graffiti. This is in accordance with Wenatchee City Ordinance 6A.07.040, which states in part “………at your own expense, to remove or paint over the graffiti located …….. on the property within the City of Wenatchee, Washington, which is visible to public view, within 15 days after the date of this notice.”
