VIPS is a national police volunteer program in USA Freedom Corps. These volunteers provide law enforcement and public safety services to our citizens when a police officer is not required. Members of VIPS assist the Police Department by retrieving found property, providing parking enforcement in residential areas, providing traffic and crowd control, conducting park patrols, business security patrols, residence vacation checks, and assistance to motorists who have locked their keys in their vehicles.
Members of this force also manage the placement of the department’s traffic radar trailer.
The Wenatchee Police Department VIPS members use one vehicle on loan from Town Toyota and a recently purchased Ford Escape Hybrid.
To find out more about becoming a VIPS volunteer, contact Ofc. Corey Fuller at (509) 888-4244, or Ofc. Lorenzo Cornelio at (509) 888-4136, or send an email to PoliceVIPS@WenatcheeWA.Gov.
