Home MenuCommunity Partnerships
The Wenatchee Police Department recognizes that partnerships are essential in providing long-term solutions to problems that arise in our community. Making arrests of those offenders that commit crimes is generally a temporary fix to a deeper community concern, therefore community partnerships, combined with problem-oriented policing, is the ideal approach for the City of Wenatchee. As such, the department strives to promote a safe community and optimum quality of life through protection and service.
The following is a list of essential community partnerships that allow our City to remain an ideal place to live:
We work with the BlueBridge Alliance which allows law enforcement officers to assist members of the community in urgent need. This is funded through generous community donations.
We partner with the CAFÉ Recovery Navigator Program of Chelan-Douglas Counties. CAFÉ assists individuals thirteen and over with substance use and behavioral mental health challengers through the introduction of an individualized harm reduction model. We also co-host community events with CAFÉ.
We are partners with Catholic Charities who offer many services in our community including: Mental Health CRISIS & Jail Services, Homeless Transitional Housing, Psychiatry and Medication Management, and Child, Adult, and Family Counseling.
We work with the Chelan County P.U.D. in helping to provide a safe environment for our community at our local parks. We also assist by providing security for major community events that occur at P.U.D. parks like the 4th of July.
We work with the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council who helps get people in need assistance in obtaining housing or help to pay their bills.
We work with the Chelan County Behavior Health Unit or BHU, that responds to calls/referrals for people in a behavior health crisis, or are at risk for crisis and refer them to appropriate social services/treatment. The BHU is used to help identify treatment gaps in Chelan County and promote new approaches to improve behavioral health and social services in our valley.
We work with the Lighthouse who helps provide emergency shelter and food to our homeless population.
We utilize the NCW Chaplains Foundation and sponsor one Chaplain. Chaplain’s provide the highest quality emotional and spiritual support, intervention, care and compassion for our first responder personnel, their families, and also to the public.
We work with SAGE who focuses on four main areas: Domestic violence services, sexual assault service, crime victims trauma assistance, and family advocacy.
We work with the Wenatchee Chamber of Commerce who is dedicated in creating a fun community experience for our 4th of July celebration.
We partner with the Wenatchee Rescue Mission in assisting people experiencing homelessness in Wenatchee to get the shelter and assistance they need to get off the streets.
The Wenatchee Police Department currently provides two school resource officers (SRO) which are funded through a partnership with the Wenatchee School District and the City.
We refer homeless individuals and families to the Women’s Resource Center to get the housing and support services they need.
