Section 9.02.010 (4) of City of Wenatchee Code allows for a 40% rate reduction for qualifying senior/disabled low-income single-family users of water, sewer and storm drain, and a 20% reduction for garbage services. Qualification is based on low-income status for senior citizens (age 62 or over) and individuals receiving: Social Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Income (SSDI), permanent total disability from Labor and Industry (L&I) payments, physician statement that a person is legally blind, or veterans discharged with a disability. Qualifying applicants must also be the responsible party or spouse/partner of the responsible party.
Income Qualifications: Proof for all sources of household income must be provided with the application and the annual household income cannot exceed $36,882 for a single person or $43,588 for a household of 2 or more individuals. Income is evaluated annually for this program.

Low income residential customers not eligible for the Senior/Disabled Low Income Rate Reduction may be eligible for the Utility Assistance Program (UAP). This program does not have an age limit and will provide up to $300 credit towards water and sewer service per qualifying household once in a twelve month period. The UAP is administered by the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council (CDCAC). Tax deductible donations may be made to this program simply by indicating the amount you wish to donate on your utility remittance stub or by calling Utility Customer Service at phone number (509) 888-3600 and selecting option 1.
