Home Menu2024 Pavement Preservation
Why is the City doing this Project?
City Council has allocated funds annually to improvement pavement on city streets. Each year, with the help of our pavement preservation software, several sections of city streets are selected for preservation work. This can include milling and repaving, overlaying new asphalt on existing roadways, chip sealing, etc.
What will the Project include?
This project will involve areas of pavement repair as well as grinding and repaving some sections of the following roadways:
- Maple Street from Princeton to SR 285/N. Wenatchee Avenue
- Seattle Ave from Brown Street to Amherst Avenue
- Welch Ave from Brown Street to Seattle Avenue
- Brown Street from Springwater Avenue to Bartlett Avenue
- N Harrison Street from Washington Street to Madison Street
- N Garfield Avenue Washington Street to First Street
Grinding and repaving city streets requires by law that the pedestrian curb ramps along the improvement areas meet current Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards. This means that 26 curb ramps along these sections of roadway will be replaced.
This project will also restripe Maple Street from Western Avenue to Gabriella Lane to add bike lanes.
What to expect
The plan is to start on Monday, July 8, 2024. The working hours will be between 7:00am-6:00pm. There are no known power outages or water shut offs at this time. Maple Street will be closed at night (10:00pm - 5:00am) when the contractor is working in that area. All other sections of roadway may be single lane flagger controlled traffic or local traffic only when the contractor is working.
