Home Menu2024 Damaged Luminaire Replacement Project
Why is the City doing this Project?
Since 2021, the City of Wenatchee has had 30+ incidents involving damage to traffic and lighting equipment. The City's maintenance staff are able to address a majority of the incidents, but several resulted in damage to the foundations supporting the equipment. The City has hired a contractor to reinstall the specific street lights and equipment that are beyond the capabilities of our maintenance crew.
What will the Project include?
The Project will include the installation of six new street lights. One location includes the repair of radar equipment used to inform the traveling public that they are approaching congestion.
What to expect
This Project is planned to kick of Spring/Summer 2024. The contractor is required to complete this work at night to avoid traffic disruptions since the work zones are located on heavily trafficked principal and minor arterials. The working hours are 7:00pm - 6:00am. There are no planned road closures, power outages or water shut offs.
