Requirements
All Officer openings are filled through a Civil Service testing process. All applicants must meet the following:
- Must be U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident
- At least 21 years old
- Laterals only - Have three years’ full-time commissioned service with a U.S. Law Enforcement Agency within the last eight years. Or, have at least one continuous year of commissioned full-time employment and be fluent in the Spanish language
- Pass a physical fitness test
- Pass physical and vision exam
- Pass polygraph exam
- Pass psychological exam
- Pass background investigation
- Felony convictions disqualify
The Testing Process
Entry level testing is completed by Public Safety Testing and is composed of a physical fitness test (WA State Criminal Justice Training Commission standards) and a written examination to establish an eligibility list
Lateral candidates will complete a PHS and a 1-page application
Eligible candidates are then ranked through an oral board process with the Wenatchee Civil Service Commission.
